Hi, I’m Afdal. I write here about the things that hold my attention — bonsai, music and hi-fi gear, photography, travel, and the occasional technology rabbit hole (this blog included). Posts tend to be casual, though I’ll go deep when the topic calls for it.

At work, I’m a Senior Systems Engineer based in Melbourne. I work across communications networks, cybersecurity, SCADA systems, and operational technology infrastructure, mostly on large-scale projects in the railway industry.

I’ve also been studying Japanese for a few years and enjoy running — two half marathons in, with no plans to stop at either.
